Sinusitis is a type of inflammation that causes pressure, pain, and swelling in the sinuses. Chronic sinusitis is commonly continued for a long time, generally longer than 12 weeks.
Chronic sinusitis is not commonly caused by bacteria and does not recover with standard treatment always, for example, antibiotics. Chronic sinusitis is also known as chronic rhinosinusitis.

- Sometimes, a person with severe sinusitis, a CT scan may be required.

Prevention of Chronic Sinusitis:
- Follow proper hand hygiene practices.
- Stop smoking.
- Keep immunizations updated.
- Stand back yourself from people with colds and other respiratory tract infection.
- Use a humidifier to keep wet the air and clean at home.
- Control air conditioning units to dust and stop mold from gathering.
- If possible, stay away from allergens.
